Makes: 10 falafel

Time: 30-35 minutes

  • 1 400g can of chickpeas, rinsed and drained 

  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled

  • 1 heaped tsp ground cumin 

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • 20g fresh coriander, washed

  • 2 tbsp plain flour

  • Pinch of salt and pepper



  1. Pre-heat your oven to 180°C (fan) and cover a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Add all the ingredients to a food processor and roughly blend. The mixture doesn’t need to be completely smooth.

  3. Form into 10 balls and place on the baking tray.

  4. Gently squash the top of each ball to flatten slightly. 

  5. Bake for about 25 minutes (turn over after 20 minutes) or until golden brown.
